Sandy Balascak, MA, RCC, is a Registered Clinical Counsellor, experienced educator, and mental health advocate specializing in trauma-informed care. Drawing on a deeply personalized approach, Sandy helps individuals navigate complex life challenges, heal from trauma, and build lasting resilience.

Upcoming Practice Transition:

Her Approach and Philosophy
As someone who grew up in a time when counselling was often stigmatized, Sandy understands the barriers many face when seeking support. She recognizes the profound, lasting impact that trauma can have on everyday life and is deeply committed to creating a safe, non-judgmental space for healing. She meets each client’s unique needs and goals by fluidly integrating tools and concepts from multiple therapeutic modalities.

Qualifications and Background
In addition to her Master of Arts and RCC designation, Sandy holds certifications in DBT Level 2 and Relational Practice.

An active educator, Sandy has developed and taught university-level courses, that explored the intersection of trauma, isolation, and “pandemental” health while meaningfully incorporating Indigenous knowledge and practices. She also facilitates therapy groups and frequently leads professional development workshops on trauma-informed care, equipping helping professionals with the tools needed to support diverse communities.
